Best known for its warm sun and clear deep blue lake, Chelan is ideally situated where the Cascade Mountains meet the desert terrain of Eastern Washington State.

Chelan was home to Salish-speaking Native Americans known as the Tsillane, meaning deep-water, later spelled Chelan.
